Mint Creek Farm produces specialty, grass-fed meat and eggs from animals who graze on certified organic pastures. We sell our frozen meat cuts and fresh eggs at many farmers markets throughout Chicagoland. We also offer a robust meat and dairy CSA program, with options for home delivery, mail shipping, or pick-up at a farmers' market near you.

Mint Creek Farm spans 220 acres of certified-organic pastures located near the small town of Stelle, in east-central Illinois. Our livestock and poultry thrive on lush prairie pastures and have access to open space and pasture paddocks throughout the seasons. Our cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and ducks are raised on exclusively certified organic, soy-free, non-GMO forages and feeds. Our beef and lambs are 100% grass-fed & finished. Our animals are never placed in feed lots or cages. There are no antibiotics or hormones in our animal feeds. We raise our animals with thoughtfulness, love, and extreme care. The result is lean, tender, and tasty meat, from a farm strongly motivated by personal nutrition, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability.

If you are new to grass-fed meat, pastured animals produce meat that is high in Omega-3 fatty acids, CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), Vitamin E, and beta-carotene. This is meat that is better for you and tastes delicious! We do more than simply feed our animals grass, we also set a very high standard for the purity and health of the land our animals graze on. Our pastures are OCIA organic-certified and we farm using a rotational grazing method: a system by which our livestock shares land with native plants and animals to make a mutually beneficial ecosystem. Practicing good land stewardship like this, provides a haven not just for the farm animals but for other wildlife such as snakes, turtles, & songbirds ultimately promoting resilient local ecosystems. On a global level, pastures like ours play a major role in combatting climate change, as plants fix excess carbon from air into the soil.

We are a family farm, supported by a dedicated community of staff, volunteers, and customers. We are grateful to every single person who supports our farm. By making a purchase at a market or subscribing to our CSA program you are not only contributing to your personal health, you are also making a commitment to support the sustainability of our planet and a reciprocal relationship to animal life.

I am SUPER DISAPPOINTED with the customer service from Mint Creek Farms and Patchwork Farms. The CSA is PRICEY and I expected excellence. The eggs are FANTASTIC - but, you can buy them at farmers markets for the same price.... [more]

This is the farm that got me to quit vegetarianism. Seeing the respect for the land that they have and the love they give to their animals will definitely make you think twice about buying that anonymous shrink-wrapped hunk of viscera from your local corporate shop.... [more]

I have gotten lamb, beef and eggs from Mint Creek at Green City Market. They are always friendly and helpful. And their product is so yummy!

Their CSA is pretty cool too.
