McClary Hill Farm grows food, real food, real good food -- meat and milk and veg and honey and fruit. We're organic, but not certified. The animals have free choice access to the outdoors and fresh pasture from spring to fall.
Our Jersey cows' milk is rich and delicious. It makes really great cheese and yogurt and kefir and whatever else you want. Lately we've been whipping cream for strawberry shortcake. The biscuits made from our butter and buttermilk provide a really kicking base.
While we don't have a lot of eggs these days - a fox has made off with a lot of our flock -They are great. The meat chickens are Kosher Kings. Got lots of them coming, give me a call and reserve some for the freezer. They are raised on grass in movable coops where they get bugs and clover as well as organic grain.
Our sheep are purebred Icelandic. The mild, delicately flavored meat is available in the fall, sometimes... depends on how the lamb crop was and how big they got. We also sell pelts and wool..
Honey from the bees is of the wildflower variety. Sometimes we get a bunch from the apple blossom time, but for the past couple of years the weather hasn't cooperated. Cold and wet has, quite literally, rained on the bees' parade. Anyway what we have is tasty and sold out at the moment. Stay tuned for the fall run.
Pigs are purchased in the spring for folks on the email list who want them. I might have some extra, but don't count on it, it goes fast. Get on my email list and I'll send you a reminder in the spring.
