The O.G. (Ornery Gnome) farm and has been working with, in and around the Thurston/Lewis county farming community since 2008. Our farm is a small (5 acres), but bustling example of small-scale, bio-dynamic, and interconnected farm practices.
On our five acres, which is protected by a fully forested wind barrier, we practice pasture based animal husbandry (goats, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks) and natural fruit and vegetable production. In addition to our stewardship of the land and waterways, we embrace local pollination efforts by maintaining a wide variety of seasonal bloom sources for all wild pollinators (birds, bats, bees, butterflies, etc.). This effort includes operating our own honeybee apiary, removing swarms and unwanted or invasive honeybee hives from properties, and educating others about keeping bees and other pollinators happy!
We maintain heritage and registered breed livestock and plant only non-GMO seeds.
