I was completely charmed by the lovely setting - an historic, restored round red barn - vendors inside as well as out front. In addition to local farms' vegetables (saskatoon berries, anyone?) Shandaken Bakery offers maple chocolate cupcakes, several vendors have pies and jams, there are meats, cheeses, maple goods, jewelry and crafts and a chocolatier, Lucky Chocolates. It has a wonderful community feel. And at the Catskill Artisans Guild they sell handmade bath/beauty goods - the lip balm is the best.
Against this backdrop are all manner edibles for immediat consumption, including fresh waffles with homemade hot fudge, pulled pork and egg/bacon sandwiches on fresh bread to be enjoyed at one of the many picnic tables.
It's a one-stop - food to eat, food to take home, and everything besides. And there is information on the historic barn and it's restoration, itself an architectural delight.
9AM to 2PM, July through the 2nd Sat. of October.
