Fresh food, great people. A must for me on Saturday mornings. Also special is the wonderful garden installed in 2001 by the Common Ground Garden Club, which is carefully maintained by Neil Driscoll who sells his perennials at the market.

The vendors are deeply passionate of their wares, and produce they grow. It is their livelihood and they give the opportunity for the fresh produce in the area which does is limited being in the mountains. The vendors grew up and spend a good part of their lives in high quality of produce they offer to the seasonal customers. Thus they support the community as well.

I love the idea of a Farmers' Market that is located in an historical location that has a bucolic setting, and the local produce is always so tasty.

We love the fresh and/or organic vegetables they supply and it always lasts longer than any store-bought produce. We also know the problems our farmers have with the weather, floods, plagues, etc. and are very proud to help our them succeed in their business. Viva la Pakatakan Farmers' Mkt!

How could you not? It's a great market with a variety of vendors, many organic. In this time of higher fuel costs and poor economy what better way to counter those problems in a small way by buying and eating local.

I feel so lucky to be able to buy fresh locally produced food from people I know in one convenient place every Saturday. The crafts and entertainment make it a great place to bring visitors to our area.

The Pakatakan Farmers Market is filled with produce and crafts and has become the hub of the community. I great place to find the freshest foods grown by the people you know...It's the place to be on a Saturday morning and is sorely missed when it closes for the season in October...

As we have read and heard over and over, your body is your temple. Eating the best fruit and vegetables and everything to eat at the market, is honoring the "temple." We look and feel our best when we eat fresh food, great baking. Having original crafts to buy for a gift or for ourselves and helping the artist to make a living gives me great pleasure. Joy is present every Saturday when you see friends that you haven't seen all winter. Keep up the good work. Verna D'Alto

Not only fresh produce, great baked goods, local maple syrups, jams, jellies but also garden plants and artisan crafts. Extra special is the historic round barn which shelters many vendors. Special Saturday morning gathering place.

Fresh, organic fruits and veggies, wonderful prepared foods such as pesto, jams, pies, cheeses, breads. Sometimes local musicians fill the air with a cheerful tune. There are also artisans who sell their creations--from silver to feltwork to pottery. I love going there, and try to most Saturdays.

The growing season in the Catskills is so short that to be able to run over to the Pakatakan Farmers Market for fresh produce, hot coffee, great baked goods and friendly conversation make our summers special! Then there is the local maple syrup, honey, plannts, hanging baskets, and the assortment of hand made goods from the Catskill Mt. Artisans Guild. It just keeps getting better.

I was completely charmed by the lovely setting - an historic, restored round red barn - vendors inside as well as out front. In addition to local farms' vegetables (saskatoon berries, anyone?) Shandaken Bakery offers maple chocolate cupcakes, several vendors have pies and jams, there are meats, cheeses, maple goods, jewelry and crafts and a chocolatier, Lucky Chocolates. It has a wonderful community feel. And at the Catskill Artisans Guild they sell handmade bath/beauty goods - the lip balm is the best.
Against this backdrop are all manner edibles for immediat consumption, including fresh waffles with homemade hot fudge, pulled pork and egg/bacon sandwiches on fresh bread to be enjoyed at one of the many picnic tables.
It's a one-stop - food to eat, food to take home, and everything besides. And there is information on the historic barn and it's restoration, itself an architectural delight.
9AM to 2PM, July through the 2nd Sat. of October.
