Red Stick Farmers Market

If you're new to Baton Rouge, or have just never tried the Farmer's Market each Saturday -- do! The produce, fresh-baked goods, Smith's creamery dairy products are fantastic. The arts/crafts market accompanies the produce market on the first Saturday of each month. They have some very cool art and merchandise. I do miss seeing some pooches at the market, but I read int the paper that it is a public ordinance to prohibit all (but assisted living) animals in public food areas. If it softens the blow, it's a law -- not just the whim of some cranky person.

P.S. - If you'd like some local honey, I recently purchased some delectable honey online from the Local Harvest site. The Baton Rouge based "Golden Delight Honey" should open a booth at the market! YUM!!!
