In pockets all over the county, state, country and the world, are folks looking to the present and future by practicing and teaching methods of sustainable lifestyles. Right here in Dorchester, NH is D Acres, an organic farm and teaching center practicing what they teach and linked with others doing the same. Locally it is a wonderful place to find a community of like minded people of all ages to learn with and learn from. There is more to living sustainable than planting an organic garden, and building and nurturing a community of folks to share with is an important part. At D Acres there are opportunities to get to know your area neighbors at pot luck suppers, musical evenings, documentary movie and soup nights, craft and art classes, culinary magic and food storage classes. Working together in the gardens to learn organic gardening methods, creating out buildings from recycled and other materials at hand for the animals allow for a broad range of affordable of possibilities. Stewardship of the fields and forest are also part of the whole.
