Hollywood Farmers' Market

It's a good market. It's crowded, and popular things tend to sell out, but it's still good. I really wish there was more meat available - there are only a couple of stands.

My husband just reminded me there's also pork there. And duck, and eggs.

Plenty of meat at Hollywood! What a surprise to read this post. There are more meat stands & variety at Hollywood than possibly any other market in LA! ( Check with the Information Booth there right off Selma & Ivar.) Fish, shellfish, chicken, lamb, dairy, beef, and us, 100% grassfed bison. Gratefully farmers markets will never be like commercial food stores as far as unlimited selection of all species at any given time. But what is there is usually higher quality, and represents small farmers with limited production based on season and our own meager resources. And stay tuned for the new Hollywood Farmers Kitchen scheduled to open in 2009!
