Sippel Family Farm

By: Margaret Hutchinson (Apr 4, 2009)
This summer will be our third with the Sippels. We love them and the delicious food we get from their farm! All share items are grown by them on their farm. There is a wide variety of produce and they often grow some new crops from year to year. Soon they'll have blueberries and apples! I appreciate getting vegetables that I'm not sure what to do with becuase it pushes me to learn more and eat a more varied diet. That's important when you're committed to eating seasonally.

Ben and Lisa host monthly potlucks at the farm for members. There is usually a crop waiting to be picked at each potluck so you might also go home with green beans or peas or whatever happens to be ready right then. (Of course you have to be willing to pick those items yourself.) Ben always gives a great tour of the farm and will tell you as much as you want to know about the ins-and-outs of how your CSA food is grown. They offer beef and pork from the animals that they raise on their farm as well.
