During the spring and summer, farmers from Arkansas, Missouri and surrounding states come to the Dallas Farmers Market to sell their produce. The Dallas Farmers Market also has a substantial number of organic farmers. I like buying directly from the farmers who grow the produce, knowing that the produce ripen naturally and is therefore more nutritious.

I want to see someone start a "Slow Food" movement here in Dallas. Forbes magazine has an article titled "150 healthiest foods" and the one thing that all of these foods have in common is no processing. This article shows historical evidence that it is really not about high protein diets or vegetarian or whatever diets. Over the decades for many different ethnic groups around the world, the key to healthy living and long life is eating food with little or no processing.
