Long Beach Southeast Farmers Market

Greetings, although I am not saying I am THE authority on Farmers Markets, I have shopped Farmers Market from coast to coast as well as England, France and Spain. The Farmers Market I have shopped for years is the Syracuse Regional FM in upstate New York. Recently I have been shopping the Long Beach Farmers Market on Saturday mornings (near PCH and 2nd St.)

The main reasons we go to Farmers Markets is for freshness and bargain prices (cut out the middle men and deal just with the grower.) You wont get that here.

While the freshness of most of the product is outstanding, the prices the majority of the vendors are asking are enough to give you a heart attack! More expensive than the grocery store.

This Market is very small thus, choices, extremely limited. You can walk from one side to the other and back, without stopping, in less than 10 minutes. By contrast, Syracuse Regional takes you roughly 1 1/2 (one and a half) hours to do the same.

This Farmers Market is more of a "trendy" thing, than anything else.

Pros: Nice people and vendors, freshness, water-front location. Cons: PRICES, overall size, small selection, parking, PRICES.

A note on PARKING. You are competing for a parking place at a marina (boat slips). These folks who have boats in the slips are probably paying big bucks to have their boats there. Enough said. Al
