SW MN is corn, bean, and hog country. The city of Mankato turned its back to local farmers decades ago yet the Mankato's Farmer's Market continues to be the desintation that has for the areas culture of food; more popular and vibrant as ever. It is a place that has all you need. You can listen to music, buy art, flowers, soap, herbs, bread, cheese, meat, and ice cream. This is an expansive market that has survived decades of being ignored by the mainstream yet has never strayed from its original mission and purpose.
