WaySide Inn Farmers' Market

By: Luisa Lehrer (Aug 31, 2009)
I visited the Middletown area in July. Being a Garden State resident and farmers' market enthusiast, I went to town Saturday morning and had a blast! The Wayside Inn Farmers' Market had friendly merchants, a large selection of free-range (and chemical-free) beef, pork, chicken and lamb, fresh organic produce (and seedlings) and the best goat milk and cheese I've ever tasted. The live chicks and hens, bunnies and ducks were healthy-looking and clean. It was a beautiful morning, and I walked over to check out the Middletown Farmers' Market. They too had some nice selections, but were a little bit standoffish (perhaps because I was a "foreigner"?), so I was very satisfied to give my business to the Wayside Inn farmers. Five stars to the friendliest and best farmers' market in Middletown!
