Santa Fe Farmers Market

By: Dottie S. (Aug 31, 2009)
Featured on a recent PBS documentary as one of the best, the Santa Fe Farmer's Market is truly a happy place. On Saturday mornings, it's where you meet the town: neighbors and friends, tourists and visitors, kids, dogs, musicians, artisans and, of course, the wonderful Northern New Mexican organic farmers who bring their abundance to this wonderful venue. In late summer/fall, the aroma of roasting chiles is in the air, sunflowers are everywhere and die-hard high-desert gardeners are searching for the perfect perennial to plant before the first snow. I can't think of a better way to spend a couple of hours every week, not only supporting slow food and responsible sustainable organic farming ... but having a great time too!
