First of all, Nancy is great to work with and very helpful. I loved that she provided recipes with some of our produce. Not only did I try veggies that I hadn't eaten before, I enjoyed them more because I had proven recipes with which to prepare them. (Kohlrabi au gratin!) Secondly, I found our produce to be delicious and very fresh. Everything was picked just before it was delivered. For example, my lettuce and spinach was always crunchy and crisp for well over a week; and I know that if I buy lettuce at the grocery store, I had better eat it within a few days or it will be slimy. My only complaint has to do with the weather. We weren't able to receive all of the produce promised due to unseasonable weather at the end of the growing season. Nevertheless, Nancy gave us extra goodies with our produce whenever she had it available. Also, whenever I made a special trip to the farm to pick up some yummy honey and fresh eggs, she gave us something extra like jerusalem artichokes or a bag of mixed dried herbs. I appreciate that Nancy and Tom and their family not only raise chemical-free veggies, but also raise their animals humanely. My son loves to visit just to watch the chickens in the yard. (I love to cook the chickens...so flavorful and juicy!) Overall, I'm grateful that the Kellners provide such a vital service to norhteast Wisconsin.
