Additionally, volunteering on the farm has given us great opportunities to meet other people who care about the quality of their food and the growth of local organic agriculture. We also enjoy that volunteering puts us even closer in touch with how our food grows and how it goes from field to table. We've found that while purchasing a CSA share is worthwhile for the great food it brings us every week, volunteering makes for a more complete and rewarding experience.
Finally, Paul Sarver is a great farmer to work with. He's very knowledgeable and always happy to talk about his produce and farming in general. He's active in the community and with local agriculture and he's a good resource for people who want to get to know local food.
I would encourage anybody who is looking for a CSA in the area to try Sarver's farm. We're very happy with it and we'll be participating for years to come.
