We were so impressed with our CSA last year we are back for another year. Everything was AMAZING. My husband's favorite was the corn, I personally loved the apples (they tasted like fall) but we really enjoyed all of the produce--it all exceeded our expectations. It's hard to get GOOD organic, non-gmo produce in this area so I am very grateful for Sarver's Hill. There's only two of us but I eat A LOT of veggies (more than the average person) and we ended up having to freeze some things which worked out great for when I made my winter soups.
Every week I compared my CSA with my mom's who lives in a different area and belonged to a different farm, and we found that mine was far superior. You can tell they are passionate, hard-working and good at what they do and it shows in the product.
I can't wait for farm share season to begin again. Usually I look forward to Fridays but I find that during these 24 weeks of the year, I look forward to Thursdays!

Ive been a CSA member at Sarver's Hill Farm for 7 years now. The CSA experience is exceptional-no where have I met such a diverse, intelligent and kind group of people. While laughing and talking we pick the BEST produce Ive had in Pennsylvania. A lifelong vegetarian, I am very picky about my families fruits and veggies, and Farmer Paul has blow away the competition. His strawberries are bright red and juicy, July apples are tart and crisp, the spinach and other greens have even my 3 children convinced to eat green vegetables. We have grazed on beans while we dug for potatoes, have nibbled green peppers as we pull red beets, and its common to see toddlers dipping freshly pulled carrots from the soft earth into the washbasins and trotting off to play as then crunch! This farm is a paradise for my family-a place where we have grown together, played together, worked together and learned. Paul is a delight, kind to all, a teacher of all that is to be learned on an organic farm, a mentor for hard work and a meaningful life...an absolute honor to have as a part of my life. And his produce...even better! We will belong to this farm every year until these old hands can garden no more.

This upcoming season will be our third season with Sarver's Farm, and we're very happy to be part of the CSA again. We love the variety and quality of the produce that we receive and we're always excited to see what's in each week's share. There's a great mix of staples like greens and herbs that show up regularly, veggies that follow the changing seasons like beets, beans, tomatoes, fruits, and squashes, and unexpected gems like kohlrabi and dragon's tongues that are hard to find even at local farmers' markets.
Additionally, volunteering on the farm has given us great opportunities to meet other people who care about the quality of their food and the growth of local organic agriculture. We also enjoy that volunteering puts us even closer in touch with how our food grows and how it goes from field to table. We've found that while purchasing a CSA share is worthwhile for the great food it brings us every week, volunteering makes for a more complete and rewarding experience.
Finally, Paul Sarver is a great farmer to work with. He's very knowledgeable and always happy to talk about his produce and farming in general. He's active in the community and with local agriculture and he's a good resource for people who want to get to know local food.
I would encourage anybody who is looking for a CSA in the area to try Sarver's farm. We're very happy with it and we'll be participating for years to come.

Being a part of Sarver's Hill Farm is enriching on many levels. I have quickly listed 4 in the subject heading.
My children and I get to find out where food comes from be seeing the vegetables grow throughout the summer. We have the knowledge that the food is harvested using sustainable practices that ensures it is good for both our bodies and the environment. And by volunteering on the farm we get to develop relationships with others while picking strawberries, digging potatoes or filling orders on the 10 person assembly line at the end of the day.
It's really nice to be able to know the people who grow the food my family and I eat while knowing that we are supporting someone that is local and who is a great person.

I have been buying produce from Paul at local farmer's markets and Nature's Way Market for several years. I was always pleased with the quality and the price.
Last year I purchased a CSA share and volunteered at the farm. It was a great experience--even the day I harvested 80 bunches of mustard greens alone in the poring down rain (my CAS baptism?).
I enjoyed each week's offferings--from the basics to the more exotic items like garlic scapes, arugula, tomatillos, fennel, escarole, tropea onions, etc. And there was food for the mind as Paul is so willing to share his wisdom about the soil and the natural world.
If the body is the temple of the soul, you can be assured that what Paul produces is a fit offering for the soul.

I have been fortunate to be a member of the Sarver's Hill CSA for the last two years and I am looking forward to next year. Paul Sarver is a wise and wonderful farmer philosopher who provides equal measures of healthy, beautiful produce and thoughtful attention to living a mindful life in mind, body and spirit. I love the farm community, the lively discussions and the quiet in the cool of the evening. Joining this CSA is one of the best things I've ever done. Peace. Susan Frenchik

I've been a member of the CSA for around 8 years or so. Each year has been great. Paul never fails to provide a variety of great produce. These veggies really spoil you, once you get the taste of fresh, local, organic produce. Even my guinea pigs snub grocery store produce.
The Sarver's Hill Farm is also a great place to volunteer. The view is amazing and always brings a feeling of peace being up there. You also learn so much about your feed. It's a great learning experience.
I would highly suggest checking out Paul's farm. Both for the terrific food as well as the friendships to be made and the satisfaction of eating what you picked that morning.

Next year will be my 4th year as a member of Sarver's CSA. I volunteer weekly at the farm and never expected to learn so much, have so much fun, make so many friends, get so much sun, get so wet, or EAT so much in one season! "Farm Day "has become part of my life.
The selection of food is fabulous. Each week is an anticipated surprise to see what has come into season and Farmer Paul never disappoints. His farming expience shows in the quality of his produce and the organized manner in which his operation is tended.
To truly know good food, you need to go to a truly good source. Sarver's Hill Farm is that source!

This is our 4th year participating in Paul Sarver's CSA. I have nothing but good things to say about his farm, prices, availability, products and Paul himself.
I do volunteer, and have made several friends doing so.
I have learned so much from being a part of this CSA community, I can't even begin to elaborate.
Paul also runs our local farmer's markets. Please check out this farm and its goods!!!
You will not be disappointed.
