Right in the center of all that La Cienega activity is a wonderful farmer's market on Thursday evenings. Having visited markets from Pasadena to Santa Monica, this market has a great balance of vendors offering everything from fresh garlic that will melt into your pasta sauce to a variety of ethnic quisine for your evening dinner. The last evening I was there with my wife we dined on gourmet hot dogs served with roasted peppers while listening to a musician on steel drum. It's a great setting that makes you want to stay for a while. What caught my eye - wheatgrass, fresh spouts, herbs, and legumes, chilled organic juices, cut flowers at a reasonable price, a pineapple sage plant (which is thriving at home), falafel, perfect strawberries, and a great selection of organic produce for juicing.
