We've been getting a half-share from Harry for the past two years (summer and fall seasons). Shares have lots of things everyone is familiar with (strawberries, yummy tomatoes and peppers, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.) as well as things we never thought to eat before (kale, parsnips, to name two). It didn't take long to find a few very simple and quick recipies online for these unfamiliar veggies. Turns out, sauteed kale with some garlic (from the CSA), olive oil, salt, and red wine vinegar is incredible (hint, add some beef bullion to the water for added flavor). We now grow our own kale (easy to do during the cool seasons) so we can eat it more than once a week.
We look forward to seeing what is in the bag each week and always eat it up.
Additionally, it's refreshing to meet the people who actually grows your food (Harry and Deb) and to eat produce that is local and chemical-free.
