Grateful Davis Organic Farm

I received a Christmas gift from this farm. The fruit was literally dumped into a USPS box with some crumpled newspaper on top. Several of the more delicate fruit was smashed and inedible. This farm might like to consider wrapping each type of fruit in bubble wrap to limit movement within the box to avoid smashed fruit. I hope that they improve their packaging so that those who receive their fruit as a gift will actually get to eat it.

Mary, thank you for your feedback. We would like for you to know we are listening. As a small ( non- corporate ) family farm, our reputation, desire to provide the highest quality organic fruit to our customers, and to ensure it arrives to you the in the same condition that it left the farm in, is of the highest importance to us. For years we have been packing our fruit in newspaper, so as to play out our part in helping the environment by not using plastics. As an answer to this problem, we purchased a paper shredder. Although it has added hours, to our packing, and uses a larger amount of paper, It is still a much better option than plastics, and looks like confetti when you open the package. Again thank you for the suggestion, and thank you for supporting not only our family farm, but all of the family farms you will find on Local Harvest. May you and your Family have the Happiest of Holidays! Sincerely, Ron Trethowan, and Family
