Last year was our first as working CSA members, and we are SO looking forward to returning this year, it cant come soon enough! There is such a beautiful sequence of events that unfold on our Thursday workday...our two sons and I load up in the van, full water bottles, eager laughter, windows down, singing along with the radio as we drive up the mountain..quiet country roads winding up the hill, then you break out into the opening, and you are immediately in the company of some of the most genuinely kind people we have ever met. Everyone smiling ..."Hello!" ....we just LOVE that! We also love the delicious veggies we get to take home every week..great variety, and the best part??!! Eating them, of course!! Every week, the boys and I are tearing into the bag on our way home, brushing off the dirt, and enjoying the fruits of our labor. In this rush-rush world, it is essential to slow down, get your hands dirty, grow something. As a family, it is important for us that our children know how to grow their own food, where their food comes from, and also the reward of seeing a task through from start to finish. Another highlight is getting to know new people, and as we are working we are sharing our lives, our hearts, our stories, and even our recipes. Not only is there a fantastic variety of vegetables, there is a fantastic, very diverse group of people , from all walks of life, all working together toward a common goal...
