We recently purchased a whole steer from the Sampson Family Farm and split it between four families. I had scoured the web for grass fed/humanely raised and slaughtered beef in the state of Florida doing as much research as I could. The Sampson farm was not only one of the best prices, but also the friendliest and most helpful, quickly responding to my many novice questions. I had purchased quarters from various farms, but never a whole. The best part was how tender and flavorful the meat was. We've enjoyed everything from the liver to the fillet and have not been disappointed one bit. It's not tough or overly gamey like some pastured meats can get. The processor they use was also very friendly and helpful. All the meat is very well packaged and sealed, which I can't say for some of the larger grass fed operations. Overall I highly recommend putting your name on the waiting list.
