Heirloom Farmers Market - Rillito Park

I love the opportunity to buy fresh organic or at least locally grown produce. However, I'm getting really tired of vendors who either on purpose, or in ignorance, don't calibrate their scales correctly. Here is my result from this morning's, 11/02/2014, shopping: Apples: 2 lb, real weight 1lb 10 oz. Pears: 3.5 lb real weight 3 lb. Beets: 1 lb & 12 ounces, real weight 1lb 4 ounces. I understand that I'm talking about less than $1 difference on each purchase. However, it would be nice to be respected as a consumer. Think about how would you react if Sprouts took the same approach and scammed it's customers by nickle and diming.

The more I research healthy foods, find out about cruel animal raising, understand the labeling of *cage-free*, the more I realize in 2019 that our sensitivities in all aspects have been dulled, because? I think it is the crotesque practice of Capitalism which totally disregards the wellbeing of all living beings in return for money. I sure hope and believe that our millennials will stop a lot of these *politically correct and compassionate large and small companies *from doing business as usual. The sooner our country can step away from greed, power and wars, the more time and money we will have for good healthcare, animal free research for illnesses and sustainable living. I am 75 and regret that I woke up so late.
