Greenhorn Acres

In 2015, we bought a vegetable and a fruit share with Greenhorn Acres. 20+ weeks of vegetables was advertised with deliveries from mid-May through October. We got produce from the 2nd week of June through the 3rd week in October with 2 cancellations: a total of 18 deliveries. The variety of produce was also disappointing. The bulk of the produce was greens, turnips, and radishes early, then summer squash, peppers, and corn later. Weekly E-mails listed a lot of things coming but not quite ready, yet but we saw little if any of it. Many things were only provided in small amounts; other crops we were told had been planted never materialized. On the plus side, some lean weeks included a dozen eggs to make up. Add-on fruit share: most of the fruit was from other orchards so basically a fruit delivery service. Plus, the number of weeks when fruit was delivered was fewer than the produce. The fruit variety seemed OK, but no berries, grapes, or honey. Some softer fruit was bruised.
