Earth Friendly Farm

Thank you Kelley and Michael for teaching us to grow our own mushrooms! Both hosts were passionate and knowledgeable about growing shiitake mushrooms and they were very patient with all our questions. The class was small and personal and we enjoyed meeting like minded folks. The farm tour was lovely - their chickens are for life = living great and producing beautiful eggs. We were served a wonderful lunch of freshly made quiche, salad from their garden and a delicious kumquat dessert with honey from their farm - a feast! We learned the importance of when to harvest a log for inoculation, keeping the logs wet and that the type of spawn is important to our success. We highly recommend this class and our September 2016 1st flush of shiitake!
