I 1st grew Oxhearts with seed from someone's granddad who lived in Germany. These tomatoes from your Indiana farm must be related, as they are behaving the same way.
I bought a pack of 6 starters from you in Spring, and it's the only thing I am growing in my Petit raised bed garden.
Like my 1st experience, these baby plants were slow to start, but once they take off, there is no stopping them. Now, they are loaded with huge, heart shaped wonders, some as big as soft balls!
I had to bungee down the cages to keep them from tipping, d/t these tomatoes being so heavy!
None of them are turning red yet, but in anticipation, i am lining up my recipes, to utilize them all. Soups, pizza, BLTs and more.
After a scare with the dreaded, metallic Asian Beetles. . . I gave them a light spray of Neem oil, diluted, captured a few in a bucket of soapy water, and the little buggers never came back. Which leads me to believe, these plants are very healthy and of strong stock. Can't wait to taste them
