2020 was my first year doing a CSA in Akron (after 10+ years as a CSA member in Western NY.) I was disappointed by my experience getting a small vegan share for the summer. Much of the produce seemed to go bad more quickly than I expected, indicating that it was not picked that day (which was my prior experience and expectation.) Often there was too little of something to really make it usable (I believe we got half-pints of Brussels sprouts.) Or things I was confused by like dry beans, or a half-gallon of apple cider. (It's great that these items are local, but not what I want.) This also meant there was more plastic than I would have liked. Other issues: someone put a melon on top of the heirloom tomatoes the one time we got them; most vegans don't eat honey so getting pizza dough with honey was not a win for me. :(
