I purchased half a cow last fall. The steaks were very small and all the meat was pale. I have bought grass fed beef before and have never seen a cow this small. Total weight of packaged meet was less than 140 lbs for half a cow. I did get plenty of soup bones. The ground beef was lean but very tough and pale. I received a brisket that was no bigger than my hand. I called and inquired about the color of the meat as it looked pork instead of beef. Mr Parker said it was pale because the cows were kosher processed and the blood was drained before the were cut.

I've ordered grass fed beef before, but was very unhappy with My purchase from MO grass fed beef. The meat was gamey, bruised, and difficult to cook. The steaks were small. I love porterhouse steaks. My favorite cut. These were the smallest I had ever seen, nearly half the size i expected. Then cooking them was a chore. Set grill to a low ever low temp, cause anything higher just burnt them (that's normal for grassfed beef) and instead of the 10-15 minutes to get a nice medium rare, I'd spend 20 or more, and still have the inside almost raw. And yes, I raise the steak to room temp, and yes i cook these all the time. Just last night I went out and got two porterhouse from a butcher that also deals in grass fed beef, and the steaks were large, and cooked exactly as expected. I will not be buying from them again.

Purchased a Pig from same meat processor and it turned out perfect, so it's NOT the processor that had the issue.

I've ordered beef multiple times from Missouri Grass Fed Beef since 2009 and have been very happy every time. The beef is fabulous, so much better than corn-fed beef. We started eating Missouri Grass Fed Beef for ethical reasons, but it turns out that grass-fed beef is so much healthier than corn-fed beef. We haven't bought beef from anyone else since starting with this farm in 2009.

Upon meeting Mr. Parker I immediately developed a sense of trust and respect for his knowledge and fairness. I split a side of beef with a friend and was amazed at how delicious the meat was. I highly recommend the ground beef as my husband could not stop requesting it for dinner. I am so happy to have found the Parkers and will continue to count on them for my meat needs!
