First trip to the market and regret I haven't been going all Summer ... extremely friendly volunteer staff, lovely meats and Virginia cheeses and a vendor who sells pet treat ... what more could you ask for!

Locally grown often organic produce, and locally made products from farms that treat their animals and soil right! Great local chef program to increase local buying and sustainability.

Wonderful displays of colorful fruits and vegetables, time honored traditions and celebrations. Families from babies to age 90+ all able to enjoy. Circular design makes it friendly. It's juxtaposition with all the growth around it makes it so much more valuable.

This is such a wonderful little market to come to on Saturday mornings. Stop by early for the best selection and don't forget an extra $20 in you pocket for the pie stand. I haven't found a better pie yet.
The produce is as always fresh and ripe. I have never gotten home to find my fruit or veggies tasteless or rotting to quickly as I do when I buy at the grocery.
Hope to see you there!

Eastern Shore clams, organic produce picked that morning, and corn right off the back of the truck are my "must-go" lures. I see more neighbors at the market on Saturday morning than I do the rest of the week combined. Huge applause to Duff Kliewer and Laura Habr, the visionaries who make this work so very well.

Last year was a great first year for a quaint market with lots of soul. As a vendor who jumped in at the end of the season, I loved getting to know the many market regulars, and can't wait to meet the new vendors and customers at this years expanded market.

The Old Beach Farmers Market is all about local food - produce from nearby farms and fresh seafood. Several local restaurants participate. Particularly liked the fresh sorbets and mozzarella from Terrapins and the hummus and fresh pita chips from Croc's and hard-to-find Virginia wines. The bouquets from Back Bay Flowers were outstanding.
Can't wait 'til the market reopens on Memorial Day. I've heard they've tripled the number of vendors. If they can maintain the standards they set their first season, it'll be a surefire success.
I never had a problem parking. There's a vacant lot across 19th St.

Having recently moved here from CA I was very excited to visit all of the local farmers markets this past summer. I have to say this tiny market let me wanting. There were only a handful of vendors and parking was just as scarce. If you live at the oceanfront I say go for it. However if you have to drive a bit to get there I say look elsewhere.
I will give it another go this summer and see if perhaps I simply went on an off weekend.

Hi Janet, I am also from California, and understand the wanting for a bigger market.Things are not the same out here however as I'm sure you have found out, the market at Princess Anne and Dam Neck Is bigger but not of the same quality. I have been here for 4 years and although it is a small one the Old Beach market is the most like home and the most diverse regular market I have found. I haven't been to Hampton yet but I try to make it to this market early every Saturday. I hope you make it back.
