This was the first year that I participated in this program. I was so excited every week to read the email from Susan to see what we were receiving in our baskets. I was suprised to get vegetables that I never tried before and enjoyed finding recipes and getting helpful hints from Susan on how to prepare them. The vegetables were plentiful and varied each week. I found myself giving some of the produce to my sister and her family; that's how much we received each week. I think it is so important to support local farmers and the local economy. I look forward to being a part of Sycamore Farms again this summer!

Last year was our first year participating in the CSA and we were extremely impressed with Sycamore Farms. Given that last year was not one of the best (as far as farming crops were concerned) we were still very impressed on Tuesday pickups. Each week we would receive an e-mail from Susan Smith about the projected veggies in the weekly pick up and it was always more than expected! The varieties of lettuce were amazing, the strawberries were so sweet, the green beans were fresh, the tomatoes were delicious and the corn was great too (that was just to name a few)! Throughout the summer the Smith's even had fresh cut flower bouquets and/or aloe plants available! Each week there was something else added into the pickups and if we weren't sure about what to do with it (like kohlrabi) Susan would always share a family recipe.
We cannot wait for the CSA to begin again this year! We have recommended Sycamore Farms to so many of our family and friends because we thoroughly enjoyed the vegetables each week. We also like to support our local farmers and will continue to do so :)

This was our first year with Sycamore Farms though I've belonged to 4 other CSAs in the last many years in various parts of the northeast. Sycamore Farms gave us a larger share than any other of the CSAs I've participated in! I ended up canning and freezing lots of tomatoes, eggplant, and especially corn (80 cups in the freezer!). Everything was gorgeous and of great quality.
I would add also that this was supposedly a difficult growing season, and everything that the news reporters said would have a bad year we got in large quantities from Sycamore Farms - tomatoes (no blight here at all), eggplants, pumpkins, etc. Plus they were really nice and easy to work with.
