I understand that weather and crops cannot be predicted, but ignoring your customers is not right. Penny was a nice lady and very helpful. Yet, when the deliveries stopped, my emails & calls were ignored, I felt a little ripped off. I wish the best of luck to the Squeezepenny CSA, but I must tell the truth. We did not have alot of money, but I wanted to eat local and support my local farmers. Almost 200 dollars for membership fee, food delivery box and 6 shipments, then only get 3 shipments was a let down and hard on us to buy additional food in place of the CSA deliveries.

Please excuse my neglect of your review posted late 2011. Unfortunately and also very unexpectly I was hospitalized in serious condition early Oct. 2011. I returned home 24 days later only to be placed on total disability and follow with a year and a half of assorted therapies. I am glad to say that I am now eager and willing to get back to some hard work. I hope you can forgive the fact that I insisted, until now, to not "go public" with my private health matters. Please see how our web site has just recently been updated, I hope you approve: Farmer Penny truly apologizes for her "long silence" and looks forward to hearing from you all very soon. She truly owes her miraculous survival to our Lord, God. Please feel free to inquire in person for any updates on her continued recovery. She and her family thank everyone for their countless prayers and kind thoughts this past year and a half. Bringing us to date, oh how I hope that by now you were indeed offered the remainder of your 2011 Share's prepaid distributions. Sorry but with no name on this review I am unable to check. Please send a text message or leave a voice mail at (972) 838-3869 or email (at least just once more please, so I'll know one way or the other) csaplans@squeezepenny.com. We are just now ready to open for 2013 membership. Last year, in 2012, we had volunteers that prepared and distributed several members' prepaid 2011 fresh produce distributions of their 2011 Share(s), offered and sold prorated 2012 Shares to "Returning" members with a credit balance on their family's account, sold new 2012 Shares to "Returning" members and accepted only a small handful of "New" members. Please know we have always offerred to complete any Share's distributions beginning the next season or calendar year. Thank you, Penny Braley (972) 838-3869 P.S. I wanted you to see how I have now represented our CSA's history in the update to our 2013 web site located on the bottom center of our CSA page, again I hope you approve: Thank you to all of our SQP CSA Members that got us off to such a great beginning in 2009, through the record setting North Texas heat of 2010, through the historic 50 year record-setting Texas drought of 2011 and through a 2nd year in a row of a state-wide historic drought of 2012. As we all know, last year in 2012 the drought conditions were nation-wide! We look forward to serving you all in 2013 and to meeting "New Members" in the near future.

I am sorry your emails have been ignored. Penny has had some serious health issues and from what I know, she is in the hospital recovering. I will try to get more information from her family.

I paid for a membership and shares and never receive anything. Moreover, every email and phone call was ignored. I finally had to file a complaint with the BBB. Honestly, I am completely disgusted. I was trying to do a good thing and was taken advantage of. I feel I have been robbed.

Hey there Dawn, Your request of an immediate refund in the amount of $210 is completely understandable. Steps have been taken earlier today to transfer monies to our PayPal account. As I understand it may take an additional few days before I can then transmit the payment to your new email address. Please allow me to send $217 to cover the approx. $7 in PayPal service fees you may encounter on your end of such a transaction. I take full responisbility for my adminstrative shortcomings and clerical errors previously made with your account. I truly hope that you can accept my personal apology as my agribusiness, Squeezepenny Sustainable Farm, was indeed not able to provide you with any service or any of your prepaid six (6) fresh produce distributions of your family's previously purchased 1 1/2 Shares which had been tentatively scheduled to begin mid to late Sept. 2010. The extreme heat last summer did actually play a large role in our not being able to offer a new 12-week Fall season and begin to include your family but the failure to communiate and the failure to offer a full refund at the end of Sept. 2010 is mine alone. I clearly see now that I "dropped the ball" when I failed to respond to your 9/10 emailed reply where you offered to resubmit your application. Without the application in hand, I then failed to add any of your contact information to our manual or computer records. I can assure you that I willing made a personal guarantee on all of the monies collected by Squeezepenny CSA for the past year and a half. Eliminating the very usual and normal monetary risk of being a CSA member. My intention was (and still is) to ensure that no one is taken advantage of. We have always had one exception to our very strict policy of "no refunds". That indeed a full refund may be made on any Membership fees and any prepaid Share(s) before the first fresh produce distribution is received (and accepted) by a member. More so, please also forgive my delay in responding to your request any sooner as I personally was not aware of your several attempts to contact myself. Until today I have not had access to the Internet since right after Thanksgiving. Then I traveled out of state on New Year's Eve to babysit and visit family. There was not a Sprint PCS tower in SE Okla. that could reach as far into the sticks as we ventured. Upon returning "into my service area" last night I was then able to retrieve your voice-mail messages from Jan. and Feb. Just this morning I also received my mail which contained the inquiry of your complaint from the Dallas Chapter of the BBB along with a 2nd letter as a follow-up reminder. Please do not allow this very unpleasant and perhaps unforgiveable experience to deny you or your family from participating or benefiting in some way from any of the smallest of pleasures that the Slow Food Movement and safe and healthy food can bring. Thank you, Penny Braley Farmer/Owner Squeezepenny Sustainable Farm Squeezepenny CSA (972) 838-3869
