Ordered a few plants. Very satisfied with most of them except for my chocolate habanero who showed up looking a little worse for ware. started to seriously wilt and suffer shortly after arriving and quickly died after transplant.

Aside from that I am so far very satisfied with the quality of the plants despite the Habs unfortunate quick death. The plants came with great very detailed instructions, great tips for beginners or experienced Gardner's alike.

I have grown numerous types of chilis for years. I don't have access to my prior nursery provider. The site on Local Harvest has a great number of chilis to select from. The visual dislays and the data on this site are great. Aside from the chilis, I can't believe the number of tropical plants that they have available. I look forward to purchasing from Local Harvest. Thanks. Mike Feiler

I just received my order of the Sugar Rush Peach trio and I am very pleased. The plants arrived decently sized and healthy, and the seller threw in a couple of bonus chili plants that I haven't heard of and am excited to try out. Inside the package was also a thorough set of planting and hardening directions. Will be using this vendor again for sure.

Most of the seeds sprouted in 5-8 days. Very vigorous plants. The Scotch Bonnet TFM, Naglah Red, Naga BBG7, Sepia Serpent, WreckingBall 7 and Scotch Brains are throwing out enormous leaves. Seeds were started on March 9th and as of today (April 9th) they are filling out 3.5 " pots real quick. Doubling in size every week. I will have to move them into 6"x 6" deep shuttle pots soon. I would order from Jim again.

These plants arrived healthy and at the right time of month for growing here in Southern Maryland. I followed the instructions and within a few weeks they were in my garden and growing quickly. Having recently spent a couple of months in Spain I was very much looking forward to these wonderful peppers and the plants did not disappoint me. We had an abundant of peppers all summer long right up until November. If you love padrons, don't hesitate to order these plants.

My personal experience attempting to purchase healthy pepper plants from Refining Fire Chiles was disappointing to say the least. I was so excited to order my 6 pack of pepper plants. 8 plants did arrive - fairly quickly. I ordered them on May 10th and they arrived on May 18th. With great anticipation I opened the small box only to find several stunted, stressed and root-bound pepper plants. I immediately went to work to try to save these poor, sickly specimens. I prepared a half gallon solution of room temperature de-clorinated water with 2 tablespoons of worm castings. I handled them with care as they were shedding, withered and wilted leaves. I carefully planting them in a high quality potting mix. I soaked the pots with solution and hoped for the best. Two of the little sickly plants did manage to pull through, but they are not what I ordered. I made several attempts to contact the owner by email and was not even acknowledged. Disappointing and unprofessional = ^ (

I never heard from you because Local Harvest sent all communications last year to my old E mail. Would be happy to take care of you free of charge this season. Please call my cell at 619-504-9777

I have an update on my experience with Refining Fire Chilies. Jim Duffy has gone out of his way to resolve the issue of seed germination. In the end, its been a very positive experience doing business with Refining Fire Chilies. I guess they get a little busy in the spring (like the rest of us) and it may be better to call them if you have an issue.

I ordered two types of pepper seeds from Refining Fire Chilies. The seeds had a less than 25% germination rate after 6 weeks. In comparison, seeds from several other vendors grown under the same conditions had greater than 90% germination rate.

I notified Refining Fire Chilies and complained of low vitality of their seeds. I've contacted them four times and asked them what they would like to do. Of the four attempts to contact Refining Fire Chilies I received one response where I was promised replacement seed. But replacement seed has never arrived after 3+ weeks and I'm missing a growing season window. I don't think I'll receive viable seed from Refining Fire Chilies and will never do business with them again.

Maybe Refining Fire Chilies should change their name to Refining Fraud Chilies with such poor germination rates and poor customer service.

I was extremely satisfied with my combo. I even received two extra plants. Which was an extreme BONUS! I grew them and everyone I gave peppers to just LOVED them all. I'd like to do it again this summer(2017). This was the first time I ordered from this site, I loved the great deal I got. Definitely going to be coming back for years to come.

I placed an order for a dozen super hot pepper plants. They were shipped in a timely manner, but got a little beat up on the way. Some of them were perfect, but several were half dead. I let Jim know, and he sent me replacements plus extras! The replacements were gorgeous. I am a happy customer, and can't wait to have fun with all the super cool peppers!

I am impressed with the packaging of the plants. Be forewarned: you will need to be ready to plant these as soon as they arrive - I had to make a last minute run to pick up soil etc., as I naively expected them to come pre-potted (silly me).

Since I just planted these today, I'll be updating my review later, once they've had some time to show me how they'll perform.

I've got mine planted in a compost/chicken manure/play sand mix, with ample drainage to get them started. Fingers crossed!!

I ordered the Moruga Scorpion Pepper seeds in February. After a month, not a single seed sprouted. In contrast, other pepper seeds I planted have already grown to decent sized plants. I've contacted James regarding this issue and heard no response. My experience with this product is unsatisfactory.

Everyone in the Industry knows if I am contacted I fix the issue. It may take time to get back to you because of growing season but we take care of issues. The Local harvest messaging is not always best. Try the E mail on my Business card I send out with orders or call us.

I also had a poor germination rate with Refining Fire Chilies seed. When contacted they have failed to address the issue.

I don't know how these arrived looking as perky as they did, as I was skeptical when I saw how small the box was. But low and behold, everything was fine and well protected. I am amazed that these got from Cali to me in Arkansas with just a baggie wrapped around the root ball. The plants on top were the only ones that looked "droopy" and after I planted them and sprayed them with an Epsom Salt mixture this evening, they jumped to life. BTW, the ones on top were the FREE Szegedi 179 Paprika plants that were included in my order. (Thanks Brother!). I will follow up after these start producing and "Hey, Refining Fire Chiles, expect to hear from me next year with an order 3 times this big" ~ YOU ROCK!

These do indeed have a slight pineapple flavor to them and pack just the right amount of heat. Not as hot as the Trinidad 7 Pot Barrackapore but a nice kick and superb flavor. These will be a must have to keep on hand for me in the future. Nice job Refining Fire Chiles!

I chose Refining Fire Chilies as a vendor for my peppers when I moved and lost the ability to grow my own. Chemical and pesticide free peppers are what I needed to continue my business. I have purchased several batches of "super hot" peppers from Refining Fire Chilies over the last several months. They have always sent delicious, quality peppers, and the shipping has always been extremely fast and affordable. They have made it possible to continue to make my pepper sauces, and for that I am grateful. I will definitely continue to do business with Refining Fire Chilies!

I grew these Jade cucumbers hydroponically last year (2011) and was very pleased. Delicious flavor, 14" long + fruits all summer long. They were a huge hit at our local farmers' market, even at $3 each.

Every seed germinated, and the plants were vigorous and very productive. I grew these along side "Tyria" organic cukes (at $1.60 per seed) and the Jade produced as many per plant and were as nicer (or nicer, in some cases).

I highly recommend this seed for indoor/greenhouse hydroponic growing.
