We love Blue Star! We bought 5 chicks about a year ago and we just LOVE them. They are doing great and we have so many eggs!! We recently stopped by to purchase more organic feed which the hens love and ended up buying another hen. The owner is so helpful and was very picky about which hen to give us. This place should be your go- to for chickens.

STAY AWAY!!!! After 18 years of raising chickens I was so excited to be able to buy so many different breeds from one place. Within a few days of coming home we had serious upper respiratory problems. I was told the chicks were $15 but at check out I was charged $20. There was a line of people and I didn?t want to be rude. I paid and hoped for the best. Don?t buy her over priced chick kits. She sells them for $40, but you can get them online for $16. I understand a markup for a small business but that is ridiculous! After spending $240 I have lost two chicks and have another sick one. You sign a paper saying you are buying the chicks as is. She doesn?t tell you this until you are about to pay. So very very disappointed!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!

Do not buy from Blue Star Ranch!! look up their reviews online, they sell diseased birds! They are overpriced and will kill your flock. All her positive reviews are from her family members friends or herself. Look at the REAL negative reviews on Yelp or Google. She is vindictive and rude. My own birds got sick from her birds, and more than half died in the first few days.

Please please do research before buying from this lady. She move so many birds in and out of her facility, there is no quarantine procedure, and so many people have had birds from her die and get their whole flock sick. I took my birds to necropsy at Texas A&M university and have confirmed results these birds are carrying infectious diseases.

What did Texas A&M diagnose? Just words without explanation.

I'm not a relative or have ever personally in the past. The blue star ranch has been my best experience with the owner, Marianne. I'm bedridden and live a couple of hours away. She did everything she could to find certain colored polish chickens I have wanted for a very long time and then kept them until they were six week's old. A disaster happened when the heat lamp they had got much to warm and they all died one at a time. Read what that does to them. I was devastated and beside myself with grief and guilt. Being new to this I didn't even know 6 wk old feathered chickens don't need heat. I contacted her and she did everything to try to make me feel better and then gave me 6 more chicks. They are only a week old and doing fine. She is the kindest person I've ever met. If someone's had a problem with her I'm sure it must have started with an accusation or something rude to have upset her. All we saw were clean well cared for chicken's and chick's.

Horrible, Wish I could give negative stars. Overpriced for soon to be dead pets. We are devastated. She charges a ton because she knows she will get no repeat customers. I should have followed my gut when she told me she sold as is, and I saw dead chicks in the bin she kept them in. One chick died as soon as we got home, the other 2 are horrible sick 2 days later with puss from their eyes. I keep all my livestock quarantined and in an incubator. I am going to have to cull these because even if they survive I am not going to let them infect the rest of my flock with the diseases they are carrying. She accepts rooters from other flocks which means she is always taking in new birds and exposing new diseases. Buy here if you want to kill your existing flock. Just read the rest of the reviews. This woman is trying to make a quick buck cause she knows she will never see you again.

All her positive reviews come from herself. SHE WRITES REVIEWS FOR HER OWN LISTINGS

I stupidly bought 16 chickens spending more than $350 for her over priced chickens! They had a disease that?s is killing my entire flock of 30 birds. I called her for help and she would not entertain the idea her chickens started it. Never again!!!

We offer 100% replaceable chicken insurance at the time of purchase. Otherwise, all of our chickens are sold 100% as is and buyer assumes all responsibility. Plus we have a guarantee page that states you are agreeing that you inspect chickens before purchase and agree to the terms. https://www.bluestar-ranch.com/poultry-guarantee.html Over the years I instruct customers how to care for chickens and that there are risks involved with raising agricultural and farm animals. - Some customers do not provide proper care, or their dogs injure or kill chickens. there are natural predators too that can kill chickens (snakes or rats) if chickens are found dead ALL customers do not consider all other factors and being new to chickens believe their chickens were sick! Before you buy a pet chicken do your research and understand that there are risks involved. We do our best to raise healthy farm pets. And have MANY happy repeat customers.

This is one delusional lady! My family bought several chickens from her, they all died of that chicken disease. It was just pitiful watching them lay there and suffer so much. I called for help and just got nothing but criticism from her. I understand that the homeowners association came against her with a lawsuit, and she retaliated by putting out obituaries on the neighbors that has complained on her. Imagine opening up a newspaper article and finding an obituary notice about your loved one, thinking they have died. That sounds like a direct death threat to me!. How horrible she is. I understand that she has moved to Austin with her son Ben to hide out. I do hope one day they will catch up with her. She has also done other unbalanced things to people to damage their businesses. I strongly urge you to research this information, it is all true! When you come up against her, she is lit like a fuse and she goes after you like a pitbull. She needs medication! Sick lady.

6 days ago I purchased three of the most beautiful and nices hens from this farm. I noticed that one of them was sneezing when I brought it home but for some reason didn't catch the red flag. A second hen started sneezing and both were breathing through their mouths which is a sure sign of a respiratory problem. I knew instantly they were sick and separated them quickly from the rest of my hens. I took them to a vet and got antibiotics but was told that the antibiotics may or may not work. I called the Blue Star to let them know about my situation and she tried to pin it on me. I purchase many hens and have raised them myself and have never had a problem with any of my hens getting sick or dying. Now I'm trying everything that I can to help these poor hens. I just hope that these three beautiful hens don't die because of a farm that didn't properly take care of them. This greatly saddens me.. I suggest calling them if you purchased sick hens from them because this is unacceptable.

I too have bought sick chickens from this place and the owner also blamed me for their mareks disease. We lost more then half the flock we bought from her. I have purchased from another source and raised health chickens ever since. I do NOT recommend Blue Star to anyone. Marke is a horrible death.
