If you want to enjoy wild-foraged, dry-aged beef, yet preserve Americas culinary heritage, this review is for you! I introduced myself to Mike through LinkedIn. Mike's posts documenting life on his family owned Ozark Akerz Regenerative Farm, which he affectionately calls his office are very revealing, informative and educational. Mike's genuine passion for the well-being of his farm animals and his decision to raise Heritage Pineywoods Beef, convinced me to buy from Mike. Mike's personality is extroverted, and his customer service is "par excellence", friendly and engaging.
A salient point of note, do not mistake wild-foraged with being purely grass fed, instead a wild-foraged diet includes grass, wild herbs and other native plants, shrubs, vines, and trees. I can assure you that regardless of the cut of beef you experience, know that that beautiful animal was raised, nurtured and fed on Mike's farm, and I can assure you, it will be the best and tastiest beef you have ever eaten!!!

I've known Mike and Sue for a few years. When I met them, Mike had on a t-shirt that read:"Graze Against the Machine". That was quite the conversation starter! I was interested their beef and so far we have tried burgers and a couple of sirloin steaks. We don't eat a great deal of beef, but my wife and I were both blown away by the depth of flavor we experienced. We used only salt and pepper so we wouldn't mask the taste. I have eaten in high-end steak houses in Chicago, New York and Washington, D.C., but have never tasted "beefier beef", if that makes sense. It has such an intense richness and a buttery texture that feels like it just melts away. We still have a couple of bone-in rib eye steaks and a large chuck roast (which will be our Christmas dinner!), that we can't wait to try. If you're looking for real value, I suggest you give Pineywoods beef a try; you'll be glad you did.

I've known Mike a long time - back to the days when he used a computer to change the world. I have to tell you guys, I was totally amazed when the package we ordered arrived. Everything was bright red and rich looking, that color you expect from only the best meats. Ribeyes were killer on the grill and their chuck makes a burger Mr Guy Fiery would cry about. It's simply the coolest transition for Mike and his family and knowing how he pours his heart into everything he does, everything is looked after like family until the moment it arrives on your doorstep for grilltime!
