Rochester Roots is a non-profit organization committed to the creation of organic urban school and community garden based educational programs for youth and adults. These programs are based on the principals of providing equal access to high quality, safe, affordable, healthy food grown through earth friendly practices. We follow the NOFA-NY Farmers Pledge principles to grow heirloom varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers. Rochester Roots works with teachers and students to transform underutilized schoolyards into uban school-community gardens. The vegetables are harvested for the project participants with a portion of the vegetables being marketed through the growing season at the South Wedge Farmers Market and Abundance Natural Food. Our line of Petal Power & Green Power skin salves and lip balms is sold on line through our website and at various natural food stores in the area.
