The Trail Less Taken Farm

The Trail Less Taken Farm got its new start on life in 2010. The farm has existed on the property for many many years serving different rolls in the community of Vassalboro. The property is known to locals as the Old Bull Farm. It has served as a dairy farm, horse farm, elderly housing and even state of Maine storage facility. The Ellis family purchased the farm after it became foreclosed on. At that time the farm was very rundown and all of the buildings on the property needed lots of work. As time and money has allowed changes have been made. The most notable change on the property is the construction of a duplex home. It transformed the old flat roofed former elderly housing building into a two story high end duplex. Other changes on the property include rehabbing the old barns, installing pig stalls, chicken coops, horse pastures and a round pen. We have many other improvements in the pipeline as well. Today the farm has become very active and we are always looking to grow. In 2011 we started the road side farm stand. We have over 3 acres of land just for gardening and it seems to expand every year. We also have expanded into meat and egg production as well. In the future we plan to offer horse boarding, trail riding and lessons. We are also hosting wedding and small parties at the farm. Give us a call for more information.
