The Little Red Hen Farm

The Little Red Hen Farm is a sustainable organic farm in north central West Virginia. We grow pastured poultry fed an all natural diet including grass and bugs. We feature Cornish Cross chickens that need no antibiotics because they live well. They need no growth hormones and yet reach a weight of over 6 pounds at 7 weeks because they have plenty of room to grow and have clean air, fresh mountain water, and sunshine. We also raise holiday turkeys pastured on fresh ground each year. To maintain an ecological balance we keep a small herd of Jersey cows, a small drift of pigs and grow market vegetables. The Jersy cows give us milk for artisan cheeses, the pigs give us lard for a natural lye soap and all of the animals contribute to a rich compost that grow sweet, rich tasting vegetables that are beyond compare. We are good to the Earth and it is good to us.
