Twelve Springs Farm is a third generation farm in Kansas City, Missouri. My grandfather and father worked on the farm growing hogs, and row crops, then eventually black angus. Once my grandfather entered his 90's, the last of the black angus was sold. The month before my grandfather passed, I decided I should get some chickens...and Twelve Springs Farm was reborn.
Twelve Springs Farm is home to an eclectic flock of poultry, a passel of pastured pigs, and a small herd of exceptionally ornery goats. The chickens free range, along with the goats, and although you'd think 80 acres was enough, the goats have found themselves in the neighboring cemetery more than once or twice. The pigs are pastured in a separate area that is a few acres big. They are never confined, or given any antibiotics, hormones, or vaccinations.
I love farming, I love animals, and I love food. I believe great food is grown with integrity, and all animals have the right to be raised with respect. I try to do everything naturally, and want people to know their foods, and their farmer.
