I am a retired farmer who provides no cost consulting and farm-sitting. Since 1997, I pay for my farming lifestyle by working at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as consultant/administrator for the Bureau IT Services Document Management Unit.
Historically I raised heritage breeds of poultry, sheep, cattle and swine. Experienced rotational grazer using Premier1 electric fencing for Dexter steers, Red Wattle pigs, Dorset-Texel and Shetland sheep, heritage turkeys and Wyandotte chickens on grass pasture.
I offer consulting services for small farmers interested in grazing or small livestock care in general. Emphasis on rare breed chickens and turkeys; incubation to table. I have experience breeding swine and sheep. Currently active IACUC committee member for biotech company eGenisis which clones pigs for xenotransplantation.
