Our farm provides sustainably raised vegetables, bee products, oyster mushrooms, herbs and flowers through weekly farmer's markets and a CSA. We love what we do and, that is why we do it.
The methods we use to produce food are based on health. We make sure we our healthy, our soil is healthy and our bees are healthy. With knowledge, observation, and an emphasis on health there is no need for chemical or mechanical "solutions."
There is constant enjoyment to be found in the acquisition of good, wholesome, locally grown food-- producing it ourselves, foraging for it, and trading or purchasing from our friends and neighbors.
For us, to eat well-- is truly a life's work. We appreciate the opportunity to share our work with others.
I'm a regular summer customer of Mellifera Farms at the Placerville Farmer's Market. Friendly faces and the best garlic, local bee pollen/honey, and sunflower shoots around! I'm excited because now they have products at the Placerville Natural Foods Co-op too!
