The Bellevue Community Center started the Garden and Urban Farm to address a need to provide children with greater access to fresh, healthy food choices and to learn where their food comes from. It has grown into a multifunctional site hosting not only youth garden based education but also community gardeners, a seasonal weekly farm stand, the monthly Bellefonte Farmers' Market, and production areas that supply the farm stand and BCC kitchen with fresh produce.
We grow non-GMO vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers onsite and source from likeminded local farms to supply our weekly Farm Stand. This season our mobile Farm Stand opens providing multiple opportunities around the neighborhood to buy affordable and responsibly grown fresh food. The Farm Stand will be located at the Bellevue Community Center every Friday June-September 5-8pm. Check our Facebook page for info on other sites and visit times.
The Bellefonte Farmer's Market is held once monthly June-October one the Bellevue Community Center Garden And Urban Farm. We seek local food producers and artisans along with local crafters and artists. Live music, free family fun, local beer, food trucks and more make it a great time for everyone! Come on by 2nd Fridays June-Sept and Friday October 26 each 5-8pm.
