Known Source Farm

We run our CSA from early June to early October. We offer full and half shares, standard and customizable. Feel free to split the full share with another family, but please supply just one delivery location!

Our delivery zone map is in our images, and includes a range from Saratoga to Niskayuna /Schenectady.

Our motivation to farm for you comes from the belief that investing our time in small scale agriculture is the best way to improve our local community. It lessens the environmental impact of food production world-wide, preserves and protects natural farmland in this area, and helps people get to know each other. Our low impact, small scale agriculture is driven by principles of environmental responsibility, safe growing practices, and reminding people of their connection to our soil and land. Because of these philosophies, we use physical insect control (like row cover) and only purchase soil or plant amendments which are OMRI approved. We also run a program with a local girl's school to encourage young women to farm, and offer work shares for those who would rather trade labor than money for vegetables. We have the goal to eventually become certified organic, but have not yet undertaken that process.
