Faulk Farmstead is the home of Melissa and her husband Micky, their 2 daughters, and their many animals. They call themselves amateur farmers, living out their dream in the beautiful state of Washington.
A little over a year ago, their family was given the chance to fulfill a dream Melissa had been pondering for quite some time – To start their own farm. All she wanted was to get a little acreage, let her hubby get his man-shop, plant a garden, and get a few animals; maybe some chickens and a little milking goat. They now have 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 26 chickens, 2 goats, 2 sheep, and a cow.
Melissa’s dream started with wanting to be more sustainable, and she hopes to eventually be able to tend the farm full time. Melissa finds she learns most when she has read about the experiences of others, not by reading reference manuals. She hopes her readers will benefit from reading about her experiences as she has from others.
