Maple Salted-Caramel Sauce

Ingredients:

¼ C butter
½ C brown sugar
2 T maple syrup
¾ C heavy cream
1/8 t kosher salt (use less for finely ground salt)

Directions:
  1. Melt butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan. Whisk in sugar, stirring until sugar has melted
  2. After 2-3 minutes mixture should be thick and boiling, slowly whisk in heavy cream and maple syrup. Bring back to a boil
  3. Boil until sauce is reduced enough to coat a spoon, about 1 cup should remain
  4. Remove from heat. Add salt and briskly whisk

Serve over ice cream or cheesecake
