This is not a traditional American-style pudding. It is more similar to a dense cake
Ingredients:
2-inches of scraped vanilla bean or ½ tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 T butter
3T sugar or ground Demerara sugar
1 c flour
¼ t salt
2 t baking powder
? C milk
1 C Maple syrup
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter an 8x8 baking dish
- In the bowl for your electric mixer combine vanilla, egg, butter and sugar. Beat until creamy
- In a separate bowl stir together flour, salt and baking powder
- Alternate adding flour, milk and syrup to the butter mixture. Mix enough to moisten, do not over mix
- Pour into baking dish. Bake until lightly brown, about 45 minutes.
