Blue Moon Acres is a family-run farm specializing in micro greens, salad greens, and Organic produce for wholesale and retail sale. The home farm is located in Buckingham, central Bucks County, PA, with a second larger farm across the river in Pennington, Mercer County, NJ.
Owners Jim and Kathy Lyons created Blue Moon Acres in 1992 as a CSA farm, growing a small variety of greens and produce. Within a few years, the focus changed to microgreens-- small, specialty greens that grace the plates of the best restaurants.
In addition to selling to the top restaurants and caterers in the New York-Philadelphia corridor, we also operate markets at both of our farms. Our pop-up Buckingham Farm Market is open year-round Tuesdays and Fridays from 10-4. Our Pennington Farm Market is open year-round, with reduced winter hours. (Up-to-date market hours and information is available on Facebook.)
We employ natural growing methods- no chemical pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or growth regulators are used. Our 63-acre Pennington farm is Certified Organic by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. Throughout the years, our premise has remained the same-- to grow good-quality food in accordance with sustainable agricultural practices.
