Our vegetables, fruit, and herbs are grown on naturally rich virgin pasture and prairie soil protected by the timber edge along Rooks Creek. As your farmers we want to produce food that's safe and healthy for both us and the share holder. Also believing the soil is extremely vital to healthy plants, we strive to treat it as the living thing it is, never applying chemical fertilizers, synthetic soil amendments, herbicides or pesticides.
A high tunnel protects a portion of our vegetables from insect, wind and heavy rain damage, and also extends our growing season.
We are a "teaching farm" hosting 2 interns a season who the majority have gone on to successfully manage and grow on their own farms,
We have had a large family garden for over 25 years. Acting upon our desire to share this healthy goodness and bounty with others, we enlarged the garden, added a hoop house and drip irrigation, and worked alongside some great interns to serve our CSA shareholders and farmer's market customers since 2012.
