Harmony Holler Homestead is a small 4 acre farm located in Meherrin,
Virginia in Prince Edward County, focused on the production and growth of
fruits, vegetables, grains, herbs, and small livestock in an organic and
sustainable manner.
We grow a variety of heirloom and heritage crops including corn,
sunflowers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, carrots, beets, turnips,
potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries,
grapes, peaches, pears, apples, various herbs, squash, pumpkins,
watermelons, okra, ornamental gourds and more. All of our crops are grown
in an organic manner without the use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers.
All animals are allowed free access to grassy pasture and fresh water and are
supplemented with feed as needed with the exception of rabbits, quail and
small chicks which are caged for their protection. Free-ranging animals
include various laying hens and roosters, heritage breed turkeys, geese,
ducks, broiler/meat chickens, and a breeding pair of pigs. Caged are meat
rabbits and Coturnix quail used for egg and meat production. All of our
animals are well cared for and loved until the end. We use no antibiotics or
medications routinely and then only when necessary for the health of the
animal.
