Rutgers Family Farm is owned and operated by Aaron & Elly Rutgers, along with their 4 children. Milking cows, raising feeder steers, selling freezer pork and beef, Saturday Clarksville market, and running a CSA garden keep everyone busy! Rutgers Family Farm CSA was borne out of a passion for fresh, healthy foods hat both nourish our bodies and God's creation. We service the Lake Odessa and Clarksville communities with a CSA farm pickup and at the Clarksville Farmers Market. Heirloom plants are used whenever possible, as it is important to preserve the classic tastes without compromise. Shareholders have the opportunity to collect the seeds. The garden is not commercially fertilized, but by cow, pig and chicken manure, straw and compost during the off season. Since pesticides and herbicides are not used, there will be crop failures, but bumper crops else where fill the baskets! Shareholders will often have excess produce to either share or can, freeze or dehydrate for use during the long winter. Our CSA offers garden shares, add on egg shares and hormone & antibiotic free beef and pork. At the Clarksville Farmers Market we also sell homemade breads and cookies, local maple syrup, homemade jams made with local fruit, seasonal pies and goat milk soap. Please call or email for more info, Thank you for your interest!
Elly is very generous in her share amount, giving wonderful, fresh, chemical free veggies and herbs. We have had shares for 2 years and it has been a great experience.... [more]
