New Beat Farm

New Beat Farm, is owned and operated by Adrienne Lee & Ken Lamson, is a MOFGA Certified organic farm growing 5 acres of vegetables, flowers and herbs on our diversified farm in Knox, Maine. We farm because it is the best way for us to live by our ideals and give back. Our farming reflects our interest in building healthy self-sufficient communities. We grow our food with the utmost care for soil fertility in an effort to produce the most nutrient dense food for our customers while at the same time minimizing our reliance on farm inputs from outside our bioregion. Our fields are worked by hand and by our Belgian and Percheron draft horses. They help us to reduce our use of fossil fuels in vegetable production and at the same time provide us with valuable fertilizer. In an effort to increase the use of draft animal power we offer farm training in horsepowered vegatable farming through our apprenticeship program from April through October. Shares and Markets: Summer Shares: 18 week shares running from mid-June through mid-October, for pick up at the farm or delivered to Munjoy Hill in Portland. This share comes in two sizes: Standard Share $350+$50 Portland Delivery Fee designed for 1-2 adults who eat vegetables as a major part of their diet and our Family Share $600 + $50 delivery fee, designed to feed a family of four or more. Each weekly share includes a wide variety of seasonal produce, a newsletter with recipes and updates from the farm. We also offer our fresh pestos during pick up times, local eggs and other products. Flower shares: $100: One farm raised bouquet for 12 weeks from the beginning of July through mid-September. Belfast Market Share: We offer discounts on our produce at the farmers market for your support in the spring. Use your market share from mid-June through October. Buy shares in $100 increments to be credited at the farmers market and receive between 10% and 15% off of your purchases. How You Can Get It: We request payment in full by 5/1. Contact us about individual payment plans or work share options. We also offer share scholarships.On farm pick up is at the farm Wednesdays 3:30-6pm.Portland pickup will be at the North St. park on Munjoy Hill or Woodfords Chuch at the corner of Woodford and Forest Ave. Wednesdays 4:30-6:00pm. Our Belfast Market share is Fridays 9am-1pm. at our stand at the Belfast Farmers Market.
